Economic Justice

Through the Peace & Justice Store, the Peace & Justice Center acts as a tangible means of support for local and global economic justice. We do this by forming relationships with local and certified Fair Trade global suppliers that share our justice-based values.

We also carry educational and cultural materials that help people envision and create a more peaceful, more just world.

PJC Store

Our Economic Justice Values

We believe that people and the planet should always come before profit, which is why we are committed to providing an ethical way to consume. Our goal is to bring you closer to incredible artisans and growers around the world, local Vermont artists and authors, and a better understanding of social justice movements.

Local Vermont Icon

Local

We work with a variety of local artisans on products like candles, winter wear, posters, stickers, cards, and other goods.

By supporting locally produced goods, we can ensure a minimal environmental impact and work to bring economic justice as close to home as we can.

Fair Trade

As an organization, we work to independently ensure that all of our Fair Trade suppliers live up to the 10 Principles of Fair Trade.

We do this through both research and maintaining a good, transparent relationship with our partners.

Education

Understanding the dangers of hyper-consumption and exploitative markets, the store encourages people to buy less, buy locally, and buy ethically.

We carry books and host workshops and events that help people envision a more just world. The store also acts as a place for volunteers to learn and teach about these issues.
