Peace & Justice Store

The Peace & Justice Store is a unique, socially responsible, not-for-profit retail store that supports community building, celebrates diversity, and advocates for justice.

Our store supports our mission by focusing on stocking goods from local merchants as well as those certified as Fair Trade. We are a proud member of Local First, Green America and Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility.

To commemorate the anniversary of the invasion of the Iraq War here are some important books we carry in the Store:

One of the great selections of books we have at the Peace & Justice Store

“The Good Soldiers” by David Finkel Winner of the Pulitzer Prize – “Finkel grapples with the truth regarding the 2007 surge of troops in the Iraq War and in telling this story Finkel produces an eternal tale–not just of the Iraq War, but of all wars, for all time.”

“Blackwater: The Rise of the World’s Most Powerful Mercenary Army” by Jeremy Scahill -  “This is the explosive story of a company that rose a decade ago to become one of the most powerful players in the “War on Terror.” Scahill exposes Blackwater as the frightening new face of the U.S. war machine.”

“Living Beyond War: A Citizen’s Guide” by Winslow Myers (local author) -  “This is an important story about the causes and consequences of war. That dreaming of a world without war may seem hopelessly unrealistic, but what is truly unrealistic is the notion that war remains a reasonable solution to conflicts on our planet.”

“Choosing Peace: A Handbook on War, Peace, and Your Conscience” by Robert A. Seeley -  “For anyone who must think about war–this is the essential guide to war, peace, and conscience of today’s world.”

“Warrior Writers: Re-Making Sense” by IVAW -  “A powerful collection of prose and poetry from veterans of the Iraq War.”
