As our world has become increasingly interconnected and globalized, Free Trade Agreements, or FTAs, have been created to provide jobs and increase trade between countries. While these intentions appear to work on paper, many free trade agreements have negatively impacted the social, economic, and environmental systems of countries around the world. Typically, these consequences disproportionately affect developing countries that are unable to protect themselves from exploitation.

Come to the Peace & Justice Center on Saturday, June 24 from 3-4pm for our Understanding Free Trade Agreements Presentation & Discussion. The program will discuss the role that corporate greed and developmental inequality have had in shaping the socioeconomic conditions that developing countries face today. The presentation will be led by Amy Crosswhite. People are encouraged to arrive at 2:30 pm to participate in a PJC New Volunteer Orientation.
