Hello! I’m Michaela (she/her), the Fair Trade intern here for the summer! I’m a rising sophomore at The George Washington University, majoring in International Environmental Studies and Relations, with a minor in Sustainability. I am stoked to expand not only my knowledge about Fair Trade and economic justice, but also explore the connection between sustainable development and fair trade. At university I am on the board of our campus’ GreenGW organization. Our group promotes sustainable practices within our student-body by encouraging our peers to make environmentally-friendly changes to their lifestyle, through presentations and events. I was drawn to the Peace and Justice Center when they presented at my high school a couple years ago. Now, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be on the other side of the table, with the opportunity to both learn and educate about the ever-growing list of issues we collectively face.
