Overview
The Lead Fundraiser is a key role at the Peace & Justice Center. Will lead all fundraising projects and initiatives. Additionally, they must retain, strengthen and grow PJC memberships/ Doners. They will work closely with the Director of Operations, Director of Programs, and Board Treasurer.

The Peace & Justice Center (PJC) is a membership-based, statewide, 501(c)3 organization established in 1979. We address the intersecting issues of peace and human rights; and racial, social, and economic justice through education, advocacy, training, non-violent activism and community organizing. Through this work, we strive to institute the peaceful and just world that we envision.
About You
The ideal candidate will be an upbeat, organized, and dependable person with scrupulous attention to detail and a passion for and experience with our mission. You love numbers and like to work behind the scenes; you are someone who is self-motivated and is forward-thinking about systems and efficiency. You have lived experience of marginalization or a self-awareness of privilege and accountability.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Increase revenue through donations, memberships, and grants – with a particular focus on cultivating and increasing the PJC’s major donor base and maintaining recent grant growth
- Work with the staff and board to plan, implement, and evaluate annual fundraising activities, grant solicitation, and membership development.
- Keep donor database up-to-date including data entry, queries, reports, and ongoing clean-up
- Donor stewardship including meetings, calls to donors, correspondence, and networking.
- Consult with staff for specific item requests and solicit donations
- Provide monthly reporting on doner performance to the board, and staff
- Maintain a donor database and create tiers of thank-you’s for staff to follow-up on
Other Work Requirements
- Flexible schedule – hours will fluctuate from time to time based on the demands of the work
- Access to reliable Wi-Fi connection for at remote work (office space is provided as well as company laptop and accessories)
Work Conditions May Include:
- Working at a computer for long periods of time
- Making and receiving numerous phone calls and texts
- Speaking on behalf of the organization
- Meeting constituents and doners for extended periods of time
