SUMMARY:Gaza Farmer Art Fundraiser @ Queer Arts Festival
DESCRIPTION:PJC is collaborating with farmers in northern Gaza to raise money so they can keep growing food for their community despite the ongoing genocide. Come find us on Saturday\, August 2 from 10AM – 4PM at Millstone Hill in Barre. Local artists have made a series of prints especially to support these efforts!\nAll funds will go to farmer Yousef Abu Rabee’s community in Beit Lahia. Yousef was killed in a targeted airstrike by the occupation on October 21\, 2024 but many of his family and loved ones continue his legacy work. If you’d like to contribute directly to Yousef’s Legacy Work fundraiser\, visit the page linked here. \n\nQueer AF will have a masked access hour from 10-11 AM.\nLearn more about the Queer Arts Festival here. \nHard Pressed Print Shop of West Danville has graciously offered print space & resources to support the artists contributing to this project.

SUMMARY:Rad History: The Police & Abolition
DESCRIPTION:For more than a century now\, almost as long as the police have been an institution\, some activists have been calling for an abolition of the police. What are their arguments? For something that seems to be such an unavoidable aspect of contemporary life\, abolishing the police seems like a non-starter (and indeed\, police abolitionists have often drawn the fierce ire of almost everybody else). But let’s engage with this question historically\, philosophically\, and practically\, and see what we can’t learn from thinking about this problem in depth.
