Upcoming PJC Events

The following events are hosted, organized, co-sponsored, or in collaboration with/by the Peace & Justice Center and are open to the public – we hope you can join us!

We charge a fee for many of our publicly hosted programs. No individual is turned away from any of our our programs due to a lack of funds. People under 25 are not expected to contribute financially. We ask those who are able to pay full price or more for our programs to do. This helps keep our programs financially accessible to all, regardless of income. Not sure if you should pay less, more, or nothing? View our Sliding Scale document to find an amount that feels appropriate to you.

Talking With Kids About Racism

September 17, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$60 – $75
Tuesdays, September 17, 24, and October 1
This three-part program is designed for all who are concerned about the impact of racism and/or white privilege on our children. Talking about race and racism can be difficult — especially with children. But that does not mean we shouldn’t have these conversations. This three part discussion group addresses the impact of racism on our children. It is designed to help white people discuss these issues with children in a meaningful and age-appropriate way. It includes resources, discussion, and role playing. This program is held in collaboration with St Mikes Civil Rights Alliance.

Free for people until 25. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. We ask for $75 from the general public and $60 from members to support this work.

Participants are expected to attend all three sessions unless granted permission in advance from the facilitators. If the workshop fills, priority will be given to those who can attend all sessions.

Registration is required. Register here or below.
