You may have heard of the infamous “closing of the commons” at the beginning of capitalism, but what about public parks? Are they not a commons? Come learn about the history of public parks and how they have interacted with private property in recent history. Similar to our library lecture, this one will talk about something that exists in almost every community around the country, yet when discussed in theory, sounds like a radical idea. Celebrate the commons!
