Upcoming PJC Events
The following events are hosted, organized, co-sponsored, or in collaboration with/by the Peace & Justice Center and are open to the public – we hope you can join us!
We charge a fee for many of our publicly hosted programs. No individual is turned away from any of our our programs due to a lack of funds. People under 25 are not expected to contribute financially. We ask those who are able to pay full price or more for our programs to do. This helps keep our programs financially accessible to all, regardless of income. Not sure if you should pay less, more, or nothing? View our Sliding Scale document to find an amount that feels appropriate to you.

PJC Community/Annual Meeting
October 27, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm EDTFree
Followed by a reception with snacks. See Facebook event for more information and to RSVP (it will help us plan the food accordingly).
We are excited to announce that we are holding a Community Meeting. This event will include our Annual Meeting but we hope to attract a broad audience beyond our membership. We will discuss and seek input on what it means to be an anti-racist organization and put oppressed communities at the center of our work.
Whether you’re heavily involved in our work or have never been involved, we want to hear from you about what you look for in a social justice organization so we can work towards being more relevant and exciting. We hope you can join us.
We have become clear about the limitations of our current leadership in this work for peace and justice. We plan to discuss why class- and race-privileged people might not bring the best leadership to an organization that strives to put the most marginalized at its center. We will discuss a timeline for staffing changes.
In addition, we will explain our commitments to the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions of Israel Movement (BDS) and to the trans-community. Our positions on these two issues have caused dissent in our membership and the broader community. It has impacted our work toward collaborative movements. We want your opinions and ideas on how to move forward from these divisions while maintaining our values and beliefs.
Members will vote for the Board of Directors as part of the meeting but a majority of the time together will be presentation and discussion. All are welcome to attend and hear about our work. Also, all are encouraged to become members (giving levels start at $15 a year) to join our work!
Please join us at the meeting to hear about our plans and share what you’d like to see the PJC do in the coming years. We are seeking community input to help refine our plans to set new leadership up for success.
