On Thursday, October 11th, the President of Veterans for Peace Leah Bolger will speak at St. Michael’s College!
Leah joined the Navy in March 1980, and retired in the summer of 2000 as a Commander. She served all over the world, including tours in Iceland, Bermuda, Japan and Tunisia.
After moving to Corvallis, Oregon in 2004, she formed Chapter 132 and served as its president for three years. In 2009 she was elected the national Board of Directors and served as the national vice-president until 2012 when she was re-elected to her second term on the board, and to the office of national president.
Leah has organized numerous public events, spoken before audiences large and small, presented workshops and served on panel discussions. She has testified before the Oregon state legislature, and has lobbied both state and federal officials. She has worked on several national campaigns and has represented VFP in various coalitions and networks. She has also been arrested numerous times for acts of civil disobedience.
