Celebrating and Reclaiming Armistice Day
Burlington, VT — ​ At the 11 th hour of the 11 th day of the 11 thmonth in 1918 World War I ended.
On this 100th anniversary Burlington will call to commemorate the armistice and to abolish war with (a) church bell ringing, (b) a march, and (c) speakers and music.
Church Bell Ringing to Commemorate the Armistice Centenary and to Call for an End to War Sunday, November 11, at approximately 11am (varying at each church depending on timing of services)
The churches ringing bells include:
First Congregational Church
St. Joseph’s Church (both locations)
College Street Congregational Church
Unitarian Church
First United Methodist
March to abolish war and foster peace:
Assemble 12:15pm in front of the UU Church
March 12:30pm down Church Street
