Afternoon Anti-Militarism Games with the Peace & Justice Center!

Are you a Jenga master? Excellent at Jeopardy? Test your skills, knowledge, and luck at our game night! Our modified versions of these popular games are a great way to learn a bit about the military industrial complex while meeting people and having fun. The Jenga competition will include trivia cards that connect militarism with the issues of racism, imperialism, climate justice, and patriarchy. CANCELLED: Mindfulness for Activists

CANCELLED Mindfulness emphasizes making connections within ourselves and offers possible ways to act on a sense of common humanity which lies deeper than conflict. Mindfulness is an essential tool for those who participate in social justice work to master. This program focuses on developing self-awareness and self-facilitation skills, understanding the relationship between activist work and self-care, learning to infuse mindfulness into everyday life, and introducing non-judgement as a tool of mindfulness. Seeing and Disrupting Racism

This workshop-style event was developed for predominantly white audiences. We start by defining racism. Then we walk participants through the concept of white fragility. We go over how white fragility perpetuates racism and specific ways to disrupt that cycle. People are encouraged to arrive at 2:30pm to participate in a PJC New Volunteer Orientation.

Prospective Facilitator Gathering

Join us to learn about becoming a facilitator of our educational programs. The evening will include an overview of the programs we offer, explanation of our educational philosophies, and time for you to share your experiences and interest.
